Click the Mail icon in the Dock. If you are launching Mail for
the first time, it prompts you to set up an account. If you already have an
account in Mail, and wish to add another account, open the Mail application
and follow the menu path Mail > Preferences > Accounts, then click on
the + (plus) sign in the lower-left corner. Click "Continue."
Select "POP" in the "Account Type" pull-down menu. Enter Gazette
Record for the "Account Description," enter your full name in the "Full
Name" field. Enter your email address in the "Email Address" field. For more
detailed information about each of these fields, click on the "?" button in
the lower-left corner of this window. Click "Continue."
You will be prompted for information regarding the retrieval
of new mail. Enter "mail.smgazette.com" in the "Incoming Mail Server" field.
Enter your username in the "User Name" field. Note that for this purpose, your
login name should be your full email address. Enter the password associated
with your account in the "Password" field.
If the computer asks for an Authentication method. Choose Password.
You will be prompted for information regarding the sending of
outbound mail. Enter "smtp.smgazette.com" in the "Outgoing Mail Server" field.
Check the box labeled "Use Authentiation." Enter your username in the "User
Name" field. Note that for this purpose, your login name should be your full
email address. Enter the password associated with your account in the "Password"
field.
You will be prompted to confirm your mail server settings. Please
double-check the following values:
Incoming Mail Server should display "mail.smgazette.com," with SSL off.
Outgoing Mail Server should display "smtp.smgazette.com," with SSL off.
